The variable mechanical grade sensor supplied by VÖGELE can be combined in many ways. It can be equipped with skis of 30 cm, 1 m or 2 m for referencing from ground.
Use of the 1 m or 2 m ski is recommended to compensate relatively minor irregularities in the reference. In the event of major irregularities, combination with an averaging beam is useful.
For highly accurate paving along a tensioned wire, the variable mechanical grade sensor can also be fitted with a bow. Referencing a tensioned wire is a method used primarily where no suitable reference is available, or in cases where the client expressly requests the tensioned wire. Extremely precise paving results can be achieved using a combination of tensioned wire and the variable mechanical grade sensor, as the sensor features a high degree of measuring accuracy with tolerances of just ± 0.5 mm.
